3년간 152개국 여행하면서 12억 번 남성

많은 이들에게 여행은 시간을 포기하거나 돈을 포기해야 떠날 수 있는 사치에 가깝다. 하지만 맘껏 여행을 하면서도 한 달에 수천만원을 버는 남성이 있어 눈길을 끌고 있다.

11일(이하 현지시각) 데일리메일에 따르면 쟈니 워드(Johnny Ward·31)라는 남성은 지난 3년간 152개국을 여행하면서 무려 백만 달러(약 11억9000만 원)를 벌어들였다.

그는 데일리메일에 "지난해 사업이 잘됐을 때 12명이 함께 일했다"면서 "지난 3년간 매달 6000 파운드(약 1100만원)에서 많게는 4만 파운드(약 7400만 원)까지 벌었다"고 말했다. 이어 그는 "우리는 사무실도 없고 근무 시간도 없다"며 "누구나 자유롭게 노트북으로 일할 수 있다"고 설명했다.

이러한 덕분에 그는 3년간 무려 152개국을 할 수 있었다. 또 그는 태국 여행 도중 아름다운 승무원 여자친구도 만날 수 있었다. 그는 자신이 떠나는 여행 중 2/3은 홀로, 1/3은 여자친구와 함께 즐기고 있다.

워드는 "북아일랜드의 한부모 가정에서 자라 여행을 할 만한 충분한 돈이 없었다"며 "세계를 구경할 수 있는 기회가 주어진 것에 정말 감사한다. 멋진 호텔에서 머물고 신기한 경험들을 하고...가끔은 이게 내 진짜 삶이라는 게 믿겨지지 않는다"고 밝혔다.

한편 회사에 직접 출근을 하면서 전 세계 대부분의 나라에 가본 남성도 있다.

11일 메트로에 따르면 노르웨이의 미디어 컨설턴트 군나 가포스(Gunnar Garfors·38)는 10년이 채 되지 않는 시간 동안 198개국을 방문했다.

그는 5주의 유급휴가와 2주의 공휴일을 활용해 열심히 여행을 했다고 설명했다.
