Tom Cruise Meets BTS’s Jin — And Gets Introduced to One of Most Unexpected K-Food Dishes

Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise has finally met BTS's Jin.

The surprise encounter happened on YouTube’s 'Run BTS Jin', where Cruise made a guest appearance to chat with the K-pop superstar. The episode was packed with behind-the-scenes stories, personal confessions, and unexpected chemistry between the two global icons.

Jin kicked off the interview with his signature wit, asking, “Do you know BTS?” Cruise didn’t hesitate: “YES,” he replied, instantly setting the tone for a relaxed and fun conversation.

Jin shared a touching memory, revealing that the first film he watched after turning 15 was from the 'Mission: Impossible' series — a franchise led by Cruise himself. Jin spoke with genuine admiration for the actor, and Cruise returned the affection with warm words about Korea.

Coming to Korea 12 times, Cruise said. “The culture is amazing, the people are incredibly warm, the history is fascinating, and the food is absolutely delicious.”

Jin was delighted and asked Cruise which Korean dishes he liked. Cruise’s answer? “I love samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly).”

Jin, ever the proud Korean foodie, had another recommendation up his sleeve: Mulhwe. “I like bold flavors,” he said. “There’s a dish in Korea called mulhwe. It’s raw fish sliced up with vegetables and seafood, all mixed with a spicy gochujang-based sauce. It’s very spicy and really good. You should definitely try it before you leave.”

Cruise smiled and responded enthusiastically, saying he loves spicy food and anything with fish and vegetables — promising to try mulhwe next time, much to fans’ delight.
