According to News1 on Sep. 3, 2020, Big Hit is preparing the acquisition of Zico's independent company.

SPC group's Baskin Robbins Korea come up with a 'new flavor of the month' ice cream.

Baskin Robbins have collaborated with the cereal brand, Kellogg's to release 'Mashups Cereal' flavor, start from September 1st.

'Mashups Cereal' is combined with 'Corn Frost' ice ream and 'Chex Chocolate' ice cream together. They also added chocolate coated chex choco crumbles inside to enhance the texture of the ice cream.

On Aug. 25, 2020, McDonald's Korea announced that they will bring back their 'wedge fries'. The fries will go on sale for limited time, start from Sep. 3rd to Oct. 21st.

The wedge fries are loved by McDonald's fanatics by its soft texture and garlic & onion seasonings.

McDonald's Korea will offer dipping sauce as well, which consist of sweet, chili, and cajun flavor. Customers can choose one sauce for free upon purchase of the fries.

Medium size wedge fries will sell for 2,100 KRW and large size will go for 2,800 KRW. You can also upgrade your regular fries to wedge fries on your McDonald's burger combo by pay extra 500 KRW more.

The officials at McDonald's Korea, said they are hoping that customers can enjoy variety of their side menus and experience the limited time-serving, wedge fries at their restaurant.

Spam and canned meat was introduced to Korea during and after WWII. As time passed, this American canned meat is incorporated and mixed with Korean way of cooking. Later it turned into 'budae jigae', a perfect fusion dish for people who love hot, spicy, and savory stew.

Some people consider 'budae jigae' as their soul-food.

Here is the recipe that introduced by Spam's official website.

Ingredients: Spam, sausage, ground pork, canned beans, tofu, kimchi, onions, mushrooms, instant ramen, chili powder, Korean chili paste, minced garlic, soy sauce, ground pepper powder, chicken stock, green onion, and rice.

1. Bake spam until they turn golden brown.

2. In a large pot put spam, pork, canned beans, sausage, tofu, kimchi, onion and mushroom. Put ramen noodle on top.

3. Prepare soup seasoning mixture by combine instant ramen soup powder, chili powder, Korean chili paste, garlic, soy sauce, ground pepper powder together.

4. Put the soup seasoning mixture to the prepared pot and pour chicken stock.

5. Boil them to 5-6 minutes on medium heat, when noodle gets soften put green onion on top.

6. Eat with rice.

On Aug. 25, 2020, KT exclusively released Samsung's 'Galaxy Buds Live' red colorway. Currently, Samsung electronics is selling 'Galaxy Buds Live' in black, white, bronze colors.

Earlier, KT released 'Galaxy Note 20 5G' smartphone in red color exclusively. Half of the people who were purchased the phone choose this particular color, which was a big hit.

On Aug. 21, 2020, Baskin Robbins posted their interview clip with BTS members, Jin, V, and J-Hope.

The three members are asked to answer, "What's my favorite Baskin Robbins flavor combinations?". Jin said, "I always go for Zzon Tteok, Wizard's Halloween, and Shooting Star.", V answered, "I have this thing called V set, it's consist of Almond Bonbon, Puss in boots, Cookie'n Cream, and Twinberry Cheesecake."

This statue is based off Steven's character, 'Mello'. Mello statue is currently installed nearby the building called 'Loft One' around Taereung Station, Seoul.

The statue of Mello is about 4.3 meters tall and made out of aluminum.

According to the artist's word, Mello's twisted fingers are represented constant peace.

The miniature version of Mello statue will be released in the future.

Samsung's new $3,300 special edition phone is open to public.

On Aug. 5, 2020 (Korea time), Samsung electronics opened 'Samsung Galaxy Unpack 2020' event on online. In this event, Samsung revealed variety of models, such as 'Galaxy Note 20', 'Galaxy Tab S7', 'Galaxy Watch 3' and most notable 'Galaxy Z Fold 2'.

'Galaxy Z Fold 2' got bigger screens than its predecessor. 6.2 inch cover display and 7.6 inch main display brought crowd's attention. The price of this phone has not been release yet. It is speculating that, the phone would cost around the same price as a previous model ($2,000 estimated).

Samsung also released partial information about 'Galaxy Z Fold 2 Thom Browne Edition'. Multiple sources said that price of the phone will cost around 3,300 dollars. Actors, Ahn Bo-hyun and Han So-Hee got an offer from Netflix's new drama 'Nemesis (Working title)'. They are considering this offer in positive direction.

According to a business insider of drama·entertainment industry on Aug. 5, 2020, Ahn and his agency, FN entertainment is considering to take the casting offer from 'Nemesis'.

'Nemesis' is formerly known as 'Undercover Girl'.

The new drama will depict the story of a woman who is in an organized crime, disguise her identity and joined to a law enforcement as a spy.

There might be a possible romance scene of 'undercover' girl and detective will show on the drama.

The terrifying explosions have killed and hurt dozens of people in North Korea.

According to Daily NK, on Aug. 3, 2020 around 6 PM, one of housing in residential area of Hyesan City was set on fire, which led to multiple liquefied petroleum gas explosions.

The explosions occurred 10 times and it extended to large fire. Since the city is a close border between China, the incident was observed and videotaped on Chinese side.

Daily NK reported that 6 people were dead at the scene and 30 people were hospitalized. 3 people at the hospital pronounced dead the next morning.

The fire was burning for an hour and half. However, firefighters did not show up at the scene so neighbors had to put out the fire.

북한 접경지에서 대형 연쇄 폭발 관측됐다 (영상)

북한에서 대형 가스폭발 사고가 나 수십 명이 죽거나 다쳤다.

사고는 지난 3일 저녁 6시 10분쯤 북중 접경지인 북한 양강도 혜산에서 발생했다. 북한 전문 매체 데일리NK에 따르면 하모니카 주택이라는 북한식 다세대 주택에서 화재가 발생하면서 LPG 연쇄 폭발로 이어졌다.

폭발은 10여 차례 이어지면서 대형 화재로 번졌다. 접경지인 중국 장백현 지역에서도 관측 가능할 정도였다. 영상으로도 생생하게 담겨서 전해졌다.

매체는 폭발 여파로 주민 6명이 즉사하고, 30여 명이 화상을 입어 병원으로 후송됐다고 전했다. 후송된 인원 중 3명도 다음날 아침 사망했다.

불길은 한 시간 반 동안 이어지면서 하모니카 주택 한 동과 인근 주택을 불태웠다. 그러나 소방차가 출동하지 않아 화재 진압이 이웃 주민들에 의해 이뤄진 것으로 전해졌다.

북한 당국은 '부주의로 생긴 사고'라며 별다른 보상을 내놓지 않겠다는 입장을 밝힌 것으로 알려졌다.

The comedian, Jung Sung-ho made an appearance as a guest on MBC's radio show 'Good Morning FM with Jang Sung Kyu' on Jul. 30, 2020. Jung shared an interesting story of Park Myung-soo on the show.

According to S. Korean military on Aug. 3, 2020, North Korea opened their floodgate of Hwanggang dam to discharge water to S. Korean side.

The Hwanggang dam has not reached to the dangerous point however, if there will be more raining occur in the future, N. Korea might release more water to the south side additionally.

Discharged water from the north is affecting South Korea's Gunnam dam.

Shinsegae food stated that they started to export 4 different kinds of 'Olbaan meat-free dumplings' to the USA, Canada, and Australia on Jul. 28, 2020.

According to Industry Research, frozen dumpling market was formed around 23 billion dollars on 2019. By 2024, the market is expected to grow 36 billion dollars with 7.9% annual increase.

With coronavirus pandemic still in effect, there are increasing number of North American (USA & Canada) customers who seek for frozen food. The Korean dumplings, which has many vegetables, recognized as a better alternative to other frozen dumplings, thus, the sales are increased.

For the 'meat free' dumplings, Shinsegae food used tofu, mushrooms, seafood, and vegetables to enhance the flavor, texture and healthiness. The 'Olbaan meat-free dumplings' will launch in 4 different flavors, which consist of 'savory fish roe dumplings', 'spicy noodle flavor dumplings', 'Korean BBQ flavor dumplings' and 'seafood dumplings'.

Shinsegae food chose USA, Canada, and Australia as their target market and sent their first shipments. The Korean 'meat-free' dumplings will be sold to H-mart and many other large Asian supermarkets. Depending on the sales, other countries, such as China, Singapore, Mongolia and more will be on the list for exportation.

Shinsegae food is expanding their product sales to the global market.

Since 2017, they export Olbaan corn dogs, chicken nuggets, and HMR products to the USA, Canada, China and 13 different countries.

Starbucks coffee Korea opened its biggest location in Yangpyeong, Gyeonggi Province of Korea on Jul. 24, 2020. It's called 'The Yangpyeong DTR' location.

Premium coffee store, Reserve bar, tea specialize bar, Teavana and drive-thru is all combined into this particular Starbucks.

The name 'DTR' stands for 'Drive Through Reserve.

This building has 3 floors, 261 seats, and 1203㎡ in size, which makes the biggest Starbucks store in Korea.

The store's front has a large window, where customers can see the great view of Namhan River.

The first floor has a space for drive-thru users and some seats. The second floor has Reserve bar and Teavana. Lastly, on the third floor, it has a rooftop area where, people can open outdoor events. Starbucks is plan to use this place for cultural/performance program in the future.

'The Yangpyeong DTR' location is also selling 19 kinds of bread.

For 'AOP Butter croissant' and 'walnut gorgonzola bread', Starbucks is received the bread dough from Shinsegae food and bake them inside of store.

This become a record for the first Starbucks location to bake breads inside the store.

LG Electronics donated this advanced mask to medical staffs who are sacrificing their lives for exterminate coronavirus.

On Jul. 10, 2020, LG Electronics donated 2000 masks to The Severance Hospital of the Yonsei University. This is the first electronic mask developed in Korea.

LG Electronics used their air purifier, puricare's patent technology into the mask. There are 2 interchangeable HEPA filters at front of the mask and there is a sensor on the nose, which detects user's air volume. There is also a small fan inside the mask to provide air depend on user's breathability.

LG Electronics is considering donate this mask to public institution workers who always have to wear a mask. However, sell the mask to the public has not been discussed.
