Doh Kyung-soo (D.O.) Stars as a Piano Genius in the Remake of a Globally Beloved Classic Movie After 16 Years

The 2008 Taiwanese film 'Secret'—a beloved classic—returns to Korean audiences 16 years later with a fresh remake!

The remake of 'Secret' is set to premiere at the end of January 2025, featuring rising stars Doh Kyung-soo(D.O), Won Jin-ah, and Shin Ye-eun. Originally helmed by Taiwanese actor-director Jay Chou, 'Secret' captivated audiences with its mysterious romance centered around piano music and a memorable soundtrack.

In 2008, the film attracted 150,000 viewers in Korea, an extraordinary achievement for a Taiwanese film at the time. It continued to enjoy enduring popularity, frequently topping lists of “movies people want to see again in theaters.” In particular, the iconic “piano battle” scene left a lasting impression and cemented the film’s cultural significance. Its influence extended beyond cinema, becoming a favorite among classical piano enthusiasts and a rite of passage for performers.

In the 2025 remake, actor Doh Kyung-soo stars as Yoo-jun, a piano prodigy and university student. Known for his versatility in works like 'Swing Kids' and the 'Along with the Gods' series, Doh is expected to showcase a new side of himself, blending romance and fantasy with his signature nuanced performance.

Opposite him, actress Won Jin-ah takes on the role of Jung-ah, a mysterious figure who plays haunting melodies in an old campus practice room, forging a special connection with Yoo-jun. Through this role, Won Jin-ah aims to shed her intense image and embrace a softer, romantic persona. Adding further energy to the film, rising star Shin Ye-eun—fresh from her success in tvN’s 'The Secret Romantic Guesthouse'—joins the cast in a key supporting role.
