Netflix's upcoming series has confirmed its release date for February 14, unveiling its official teaser trailer, which garnered over 400,000 views within just one day, sparking immense excitement.

On January 17, Netflix announced the release of 'Melo Movie,' a heartfelt story of young adults navigating love and dreams while inspiring each other to overcome personal traumas. Choi Woo-shik takes on the role of Go Gyeom, a former bit-part actor turned film critic, while Park Bo-young portrays Kim Mubee, a woman who once despised films but ends up becoming a director. The cast also includes Lee Jun-young as aspiring composer Hong Si-jun and Jeon So-nee as his ex-girlfriend and screenwriter, Son Ju-ah.

Adding to the buzz is the creative team behind the series. Director Oh Choong-hwan, known for hits like 'Hotel Del Luna,' 'Start-Up,' and 'Big Mouth,' collaborates with writer Lee Na-eun, who previously worked on 'Our Beloved Summer.'

The teaser trailer promises the birth of an "iconic romance." The narrative follows classic melodrama tropes, beginning with a fateful encounter between Go Gyeom and Kim Mubee. Drawn to her name, Gyeom jokingly says, "I really love movies, and your name is Mubee, right?" Mubee, however, keeps her distance, replying, "Please don’t talk to me." Despite her initial coldness, the two repeatedly cross paths as a struggling actor and an assistant director, gradually forming a deeper connection.

After a kiss confirms their feelings, the story takes a dramatic turn. A voiceover from Kim Mubee reveals, "Go Gyeom disappeared just like that" leaving viewers with burning questions. Gyeom reappears after vanishing from her life, reigniting their complicated relationship. As a film critic and director, the pair must navigate their intertwined fates, leaving audiences eager to find out if their story ends with a happy-ever-after.

Fans who watched the teaser have been flooding the internet with enthusiastic reactions. Comments include, “Choi Woo-shik + Park Bo-young + film theme + Netflix + ‘Our Beloved Summer’ writer + ‘Hotel Del Luna’ director = must-watch,” “It’s so Lee Na-eun’s style,” “This is like a cheat code for success,” “Even the release date is perfect—Valentine’s Day,” and “I was sold on the cast alone.” Many also expressed their excitement with remarks like, “I’m already emotional,” and “This is exactly my kind of story.”

'Melo Movie' will be available exclusively on Netflix, reaching viewers in over 190 countries worldwide.
