On April 4, SM Entertainment officially announced that Red Velvet members Wendy and Yeri have ended their exclusive contracts with the company.

In a statement, SM said, “We would like to inform you that the exclusive contracts between SM Entertainment and Wendy and Yeri have come to an end.” While the two members will now pursue their solo careers independently, they will continue to participate in Red Velvet’s group activities, which will remain under the management of SM.
The agency added, “Wendy and Yeri will continue their activities as members of Red Velvet with us. Please look forward to the next chapter in Red Velvet’s bright and dazzling journey.”
SM also expressed its gratitude for the time spent with the two artists, stating, “From their debut with Red Velvet to their activities as solo performers, it has been a great joy for us to work with Wendy and Yeri. We cherish every moment we’ve shared and sincerely support their new beginnings.”
They concluded, “We deeply thank fans for the unwavering love and support shown to Wendy and Yeri, and we hope you continue to warmly follow their new challenges in the paths they each choose.”
Yeri to Star in ‘BITCH X RICH Season 2’

Meanwhile, Yeri is set to appear in the upcoming second season of the teen thriller drama 'BITCH X RICH 2'.
The drama centers on a power struggle at an elite private high school, Cheongdam International, and blends high-teen psychological thriller with youth romance. The story follows Kim Hye-in (played by Lee Eun-saem), a transfer student and the sole witness to a murder, and Baek Je-na (played by Kim Ye-rim, a.k.a. Yeri), the queen of the school’s most powerful clique, DIAMOND6.
The previous season ended with the shocking revelation of the killer and the sudden occurrence of another murder, leaving fans eagerly anticipating the new season.
