Song Joong-ki Preparing to Be a Florist? Unexpected Update Revealed Ahead of New K-Drama

Actor Song Joong-ki is preparing for a surprising transformation—as a florist.

On April 16, a professional florist revealed on social media that Song had been attending flower arrangement classes since last summer. “Actor Song Joong-ki has been joining us for flower classes since last summer,” he wrote, along with several photos of him.

In the pictures, Song is seen carefully trimming flowers with a focused expression. Another heartwarming photo shows him smiling brightly behind a bouquet alongside the florist.

According to the florist, Song has been learning the basics of floristry to prepare for his upcoming role in the JTBC drama My Youth. “To play the male florist ‘Sun Woo-hae’ in the drama, Song Joong-ki started from the fundamentals and has been studying with genuine dedication,” he shared. “I learned a lot from his passion and sincerity.”

However, the photos seems to have been removed in the account after gaining attention online. The florist added, “He was always warm and considerate every time we met. I’m truly grateful and wish him the best in everything he does.”

My Youth is scheduled to premiere on July 26 as a weekend drama on JTBC. Song Joong-ki will play Sun Woo-hae, a man who embarks on a quiet, ordinary life as a florist after many struggles. He will star opposite actress Chun Woo-hee.

The drama tells a touching romance story of a man reuniting with his first love more than a decade after she helped him through the darkest time of his life—a second chance at love and happiness.

Meanwhile, Song Joong-ki married British actress Katy Louise Saunders in January 2023 and became a father that June. Last year, he welcomed a second child, a daughter, becoming a dad of two.

Despite his growing family, Song has remained active in his career. His film Bogota: City of the Lost was released on Netflix in February and quickly climbed to No.1 on the platform’s global non-English film chart, earning acclaim from viewers worldwide.

With his return to drama, fans are once again eagerly awaiting what he’ll show next.
