The Brutal Return of a Revenge Legend!
Netflix has officially announced the release date for its upcoming Korean original noir action series Mercy for None, starring some of the hottest names in Korean drama today—including So Ji-sub, Lee Jun-hyuk, Gong Myung, and Chu Young-woo. The series is set to premiere on June 6 at 4 PM KST.

On May 9, Netflix dropped a teaser poster and trailer, stirring anticipation for the gritty, revenge-fueled story. Mercy for None is based on the popular Naver webtoon of the same name, known for its brutal and emotionally charged depiction of a violent underworld.
The plot follows Ki-jun (played by So Ji-sub), a former legend of the “Plaza” world, who vanished 11 years ago after cutting ties—both metaphorically and literally—by severing his own Achilles tendon. He returns when Ki-seok (Lee Jun-hyuk), once the No.2 in the organization, dies under mysterious circumstances. Now driven by revenge, Ki-jun digs deep into the secrets behind his brother’s death, re-entering a world where violence is the only language.

The teaser poster shows Ki-jun standing alone in a blood-splattered alley, surrounded by fallen bodies. The chilling visual hints at a one-man war and raises questions about the intensity of the battles he’ll face. The tagline, “The rules are broken. He is back,” adds to the ominous mood, teasing the return of a legend who once ruled the Plaza.
Mercy for None is already generating buzz, not just for its gripping story but also for its all-star cast. From So Ji-sub making his return to hard-hitting action after 13 years, to seasoned actors like Huh Joon-ho, Cha Seung-won, and Jo Han-chul, the ensemble lineup is stacked with power. Rising stars Gong Myung, Chu Young-woo, and more round out the cast, promising a fresh mix of chemistry and intensity.
Following in the footsteps of global hits like Squid Game and When Life Gives You Tangerines, this dark, emotionally charged thriller has the potential to once again put Korean storytelling at the forefront of international streaming.
