G-Dragon Reveals IU's Hilarious Pre-Military Surprise Gift!

G-Dragon (Kwon Ji-yong) recently shared a touching and hilarious story about a surprise gift he received from IU (Lee Ji-eun).

On May 14, G-Dragon appeared on comedian Park Myung-soo’s YouTube show HalMyungSoo. The episode marked a long-awaited meeting after Park had publicly asked G-Dragon for years to be a guest. The twist? Park didn’t know G-Dragon would be on the show—making their reunion all the more dramatic and heartwarming.

The two stars, who go way back to their Infinite Challenge days, greeted each other warmly and caught up on recent life updates. Park expressed his admiration by saying he always includes G-Dragon or BIGBANG songs in his DJ setlists. He even amused G-Dragon with an impromptu impression of him.

The topic soon turned to concerts. Park shared that he’s planning his own concert, and the two bonded over G-Dragon’s recent world tour preparations. Then Park asked, “When artists like IU show up as guests, how do you thank them?”

G-Dragon, who’s known to have a close friendship with IU—having performed duets and appeared on shows together—revealed a memorable gift she gave him before his military enlistment.

“IU always takes good care of other people. Before I enlisted, I found a fridge delivered to my place, completely filled with the alcohol brand she was promoting at the time. I went off to the military totally completely drunk ,” he laughed. At that time, IU was a model for a popular soju brand.

When asked if he drinks often, G-Dragon admitted, “I like alcohol, but I don’t really drink that much soju,” smiling.
