The much-anticipated sequel follows Yeon Si-eun (played by Park Ji-hoon), a once-ordinary high school student who carries deep emotional scars after failing to protect a close friend. Transferring to a new school, Eunjang High, he’s forced to confront violence once again. Determined not to repeat past mistakes, he embarks on a journey of survival and personal growth—this time, with new allies by his side.

Park Ji-hoon reprises his role with emotional depth, portraying Si-eun’s inner turmoil, guilt, and resilience with gripping nuance. Si-eun’s struggle to overcome his trauma is bolstered by new friendships with Park Hu-min (Ryeo Un), Seo Jun-tae (Choi Min-young), and Go Hyun-tak (Lee Min-jae). As he wrestles with guilt over failing to protect Ahn Soo-ho (Choi Hyun-wook) in the previous season, Si-eun slowly begins to heal.

The performances are especially sharp this season. Park Ji-hoon delivers a standout portrayal of emotional restraint and raw fury, while Lee Jun-young as Geum Seong-je and Bae Na-ra as Na Baek-jin bring intense conflict and high-stakes tension to the screen. Baek-jin’s presence, in particular, adds a layer of unpredictability every time he appears.

According to Netflix’s Tudum, Weak Hero Class 2 ranked No.1 globally in the Non-English TV Series category during its debut week (April 21–27) with 6.1 million views. In week two (April 28–May 4), it placed second with 6.4 million views, and in week three (May 5–11), it landed at fourth place with 2.4 million views.

Even after three weeks, the series remains in the Netflix Top 10 across 33 countries, raising hopes that it could match or exceed the success of Weak Hero Class 1, which stayed in the global rankings for six weeks.

Cast Members Stay Busy with New Projects

Park Ji-hoon is currently filming a new movie titled The Man Who Lives With the King (working title). Meanwhile, Bae Na-ra, who played one of the season’s standout antagonists, is now appearing in Genie TV’s original drama Tastefully Yours alongside Kang Ha-neul. He’s also joined the cast of SBS’s upcoming drama Would You Marry Me(Working Title), expanding his acting portfolio.

On May 9, the YouTube channel Cheonggye Mountain Dang-i Records released a behind-the-scenes reunion video titled "Dragged to the Rooftop by the Weak Hero?". The clip features YouTuber and actor Cho Jung-seok, Park Ji-hoon, Lee Jun-young, and Yoo Su-bin grilling meat on a rooftop and chatting about filming memories.

Cho Jung-seok jokingly commented, “These guys are next-level—one punch, three teeth gone. I called them up here with my heart ready.” The group shared laughs, inside jokes, and touching anecdotes from set. Lee Jun-young recalled, “It was freezing when we filmed the action scenes—we even had to hold ice in our mouths.” Yoo Su-bin added, “The energy on set was just overwhelming. Everyone was laser-focused.”

Lee also shared that it was his birthday during filming, and the staff surprised him with a party. The video ended with the cast receiving a symbolic “graduation certificate” from the production team, prompting Cho to ask, “Does this mean no Season 3?” The cast playfully replied, “It’s just a graduation from filming,” leaving the door open and fans hopeful.

In reflecting on the season, Park Ji-hoon said, “This story is anything but weak. I hope viewers feel free to laugh, cry, and experience it with us.”
