K-pop Sensation SEVENTEEN's Explosive 10th Anniversary Celebration!

K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN is back — and they’re making their 10th anniversary one to remember. The group’s fifth full-length album HAPPY BURSTDAY, released on May 26 at 6 PM KST, has rocketed to the top of both digital and physical music charts, proving once again why they remain at the forefront of the industry.

According to PLEDIS Entertainment, the title track ‘THUNDER’ debuted at No. 7 on Melon’s highly competitive “Top 100” chart and soared to No. 1 by midnight on May 27. The “concrete chart” — so called for its low volatility — rarely sees such dramatic jumps, showcasing SEVENTEEN’s enduring popularity and digital strength.

⚡️ Not Just the Title Track — Every Song Is a Hit

The group’s momentum didn’t stop with just the title track. Songs like ‘HBD’, ‘Bad Influence (prod. Pharrell Williams)’, and more ranked within the Top 10, with all 10 solo member tracks entering the Top 30. On other major platforms like Genie and Bugs, every track from the album also charted, marking a clean sweep.

💿 Record-Breaking Album Sales

On the physical side, HAPPY BURSTDAY sold a staggering 2,269,401 copies on its first day, according to Hanteo Chart, securing the No. 1 spot on the daily album chart.

🌍 Dominating Global Charts

The response overseas has been equally explosive. The album topped the iTunes Top Albums chart in 15 countries and regions, including Japan, Thailand, and the Philippines, and hit No. 1 on the Worldwide iTunes Albums chart. The title track ‘THUNDER’ also reached No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart in 13 countries, and entered the Worldwide iTunes Songs chart at No. 7 — proving SEVENTEEN’s strong global reach.

🎬 A Thunderous Visual Impact

The music video for ‘THUNDER’, with its intense and electrifying party vibe, shot up to No. 2 on YouTube Korea’s Trending Videos for music. It also ranked highly in other countries like the U.S., Canada, the UK, Thailand, and Singapore.

In a surprising twist, SEVENTEEN’s 2018 B-side track ‘I’m Finding You’ from their DIRECTOR’S CUT album made a reentry into Melon’s Top 100 at No. 38 — seven years after its original release. This resurgence was sparked by member Hoshi, who expressed his wish for the song to chart again during the group’s recent “B-DAY PARTY: BURST Stage @Jamsu Bridge” event. The summer breeze, the emotional performance, and fan nostalgia all came together to revive the track.

SEVENTEEN plans to keep the momentum going with a lineup of content and promotions. On May 28, the group will release Part 2 of their comeback special for GOING SEVENTEEN. Then, starting May 29, they will begin music show promotions with M Countdown.

Coming up on June 2, fans can also catch the premiere of their variety show ‘Nana bnb with SEVENTEEN’, a collaboration with famed producer Na Young-seok, airing on Weverse, tvN, and Disney+.
