KOMCA has decided to suspend the payment of copyright royalties for “Cupid” in accordance with internal regulations
Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) has decided to suspend the payment of copyright royalties for 'Cupid'.

According to SBS Entertainment News, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) implemented the decision to suspend the payment of copyright royalties for FIFTY FIFTY's 'Cupid' on the 15th, following their internal regulations.
Originally, it was expected that 'Cupid' would be included in the quarterly domestic royalty calculations, just like other registered songs. However, based on the internal regulations that state "copyright royalty payments will be suspended in case of copyright disputes," the association has made this decision.
Earlier, the agency ATTRAKT, which represents FIFTY FIFTY, filed a criminal complaint against The Givers, the outsourcing producing contract partner, claiming that they deceived the agency and illegally obtained the copyright for 'Cupid' through embezzlement and other charges.
The Givers, represented by Ahn Sung-il, refuted the claims regarding the copyright of 'Cupid' and stated that they had a legitimate rights transfer agreement with three original Swedish composers, which took place in February.
However, on the 17th, reports emerged that Ahn Sung-il engaged in illegal activities such as forging the signatures of the three Swedish composers and submitting ownership change confirmation document to the Korea Music Copyright Association. This controversy surrounding the copyright of 'Cupid' is expected to continue for some time.
