Korea’s Ultimate New Year Hotspot: Kakao Friends’ Chunsik Brings the Cuteness Overload to Gangnam’s Dosan Park!

On December 24(KST), Kakao announced a collaboration with Gangnam District to host the "La-chunbok Delivery" event at Dosan Park in Seoul, transforming the entire park into a themed space featuring Kakao Friends characters Ryan and Chunsik.

The main path from the entrance to the park will be decorated with traditional Korean lucky pouches and Chunsik-themed installations, creating a festive New Year atmosphere. At the center of the park, visitors will find giant hot air balloons of Ryan and Chunsik dressed in winter costumes, serving as a must-visit photo zone.

A Chunsik-themed pop-up booth, styled as a lucky pouch, will host a daily event from 12 PM to 5 PM for the first 100 participants. Visitors can take part in an SNS campaign to win a goodies package containing hand warmers, acrylic keychains, and random fortune tickets with New Year’s blessings.

Additionally, guests can write their wishes on provided wish papers and display them at the "Wish Exhibition Zone," sharing their hopes and dreams for the upcoming year.

To promote the "Lachunbok Delivery" event, Gangnam District will run an outdoor advertising campaign featuring Ryan and Chunsik as delivery mascots. A 3D video of the characters delivering a giant lucky pouch will be displayed on media screens in key areas such as Gangnam Station, COEX, and Sinsa Station.

Choi Sun, Creative Leader of Kakao Friends, said, “This year, we collaborated with Seoul on large-scale offline events featuring Kakao Friends at major landmarks. Following this year’s success, we plan to expand the offline presence of Kakao’s beloved characters next year.”

The event will run from December 24 to February 2.

Kakao Friends x BE@RBRICK Collaboration

Earlier this month, Kakao Friends launched a new collaboration with global figure brand BE@RBRICK, unveiling goods featuring Ryan and Chunsik. This partnership follows the 2021 release of the "Golden Ryan BE@RBRICK", which sold out instantly.

This time, Ryan and Chunsik are available in three sizes: original (7 cm), 4x the original size, and 10x the original size. The figures capture the adorable faces of the characters, offering fans a fresh perspective on their charm.

Fans can purchase the BE@RBRICK figures through the Kakao Friends online store, flagship stores in Gangnam and Hongdae, and Kinkirobot’s online and offline platforms. The original-sized versions are also available via KakaoTalk’s gift shop.
