“Is He Richer Than BIGBANG GD?” Seungri Spotted Abroad, Smiling and Suited Up, Igniting Fresh 'Burning Sun' Controversy

Former BIGBANG member Seungri has sparked fresh controversy after a video of him at an international exhibition surfaced online.

On December 25(KST), clips shared across social media and online communities showed Seungri smiling and engaging in what appeared to be business meetings. Notably, his fuller face and physique compared to the past caught attention, reigniting public interest.

Earlier this year, in August, Seungri faced backlash when news broke that he was set to appear as a special guest at the 'Burning Sun Surabaya' event in Indonesia. As the controversy grew, the event organizer, TSV Management, issued an apology video on social media on August 11 and abruptly canceled the event.

“We apologize for any misunderstanding. The distributed poster did not mention Seungri’s invitation. The name ‘Burning Sun Surabaya’ was meant to emphasize safety in club and party settings,” the organizers clarified.

Adding to the controversy, multiple sightings of Seungri in Bali have been reported. Some Korean tourists claimed they were approached by Seungri’s group with invitations to private gatherings at their accommodations. These accounts quickly circulated online, sparking further debate.

Seungri remains a divisive figure due to his involvement in the infamous 'Burning Sun Scandal.' The case saw him convicted on nine charges, including habitual gambling, violations of the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (camera-related offenses), prostitution-related crimes, and embezzlement. He was sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison and completed his sentence in February 2023.

However, his release has not marked the end of controversy. Reports of his attendance at lavish parties, invitations to club-goers, and associations with individuals from the Chinese entertainment industry with drug-related pasts have kept him in the public eye for all the wrong reasons.
