The Medical Drama Starring Ju Ji-hoon and Choo Young-woo.
Based on Naver Series’ web novel ‘The Trauma Center: Golden Hour,’ the drama ‘The Trauma Center: Heroes on Call,’ was globally released on Netflix on January 24. The show follows the journey of Baek Kang-hyuk, a genius surgeon, as he transforms a dysfunctional trauma team at a university hospital into a high-functioning center capable of saving lives.

The main filming location is Ewha Womans University Seoul Hospital, known for its aesthetically pleasing architecture. The hospital has also served as a backdrop for popular medical dramas like 'Doctor John' and 'Hospital Playlist.'
Although the drama looks so authentic that viewers assumed most scenes were shot inside the hospital, that’s not the case. According to director Lee Do-yoon, the hospital interiors, operating rooms, and even ambulance scenes were all filmed on meticulously designed sets. The attention to detail was so precise that even medical consultants on set were impressed.
Additional locations include Seoul Bumin Hospital, Incheon AIN Hospital, and Bestian Hospital in Cheongju.
In the drama, Ju Ji-hoon plays Baek Kang-hyuk, a highly skilled trauma surgeon who has saved countless lives on battlefields. Back in Korea, he faces a new challenge: saving patients while navigating the financial struggles that come with running a trauma center. The plot highlights various challenges faced by the trauma team and showcases the dedication of its medical staff.

Director Lee Do-yoon, known for the film 'Good Friends,' leads the production, while Choi Tae-gang, the writer of 'Adamas,' penned the screenplay.
At the drama’s press conference, Ju Ji-hoon acknowledged comparisons to real-life trauma surgeon Dr. Lee Guk-jong but clarified that this drama isn’t a documentary. “It’s packed with emotional and dramatic elements, and I focused on portraying the dedication of a doctor determined to save lives,” he shared.
Choo Young-woo plays Yang Jae-won, Baek’s first protégé, a passionate and talented young surgeon. While he has a clumsy side, his unwavering commitment to patient care cements his role as a reliable member of the trauma team.
Cheon Jang-mi is a seasoned nurse with five years of experience in the trauma unit. Her strong-willed, fiery personality and impressive skills make her the backbone of the team as she navigates crises with unwavering determination.
Yoon Kyung-ho portrays Han Yoo-rim, an ambitious figure vying to become the hospital’s next chief of staff. However, Baek Kang-hyuk’s arrival throws his carefully laid plans into chaos.
