On January 30, actress Song Ji-hyo took to Instagram to share her thoughts after receiving criticism regarding her acceptance speech at the '2024 SBS Entertainment Awards,' held the previous day.

On January 29, Song Ji-hyo received the Scene Stealer Award during the televised ceremony. Her reaction, however, suggested she hadn’t anticipated the win, as she appeared visibly surprised when her name was announced and walked to the stage somewhat dazed. While accepting the award, she remarked, “I was so out of it that I wasn’t expecting this at all,” reflecting her flustered state.
Some netizens criticized her acceptance speech, calling it disorganized and lacking sincerity. Discussions about the controversy spread across various social media platforms and online communities. Aware of the comments, Song Ji-hyo shared a detailed post on Instagram on January 30, addressing the situation.
She explained, “Due to my busy filming schedule, I barely had time for wardrobe fittings or hair and makeup. I had to prepare quickly for the event. When I suddenly received the award, I was caught off guard, and my lack of eloquence made my speech seem insincere.”
In her post, she expressed gratitude toward her fellow SBS Running Man cast members Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Haha, Kim Jong-kook, and Yang Se-chan, as well as the staff who have supported her along the way.

She wrote, “I’m truly grateful to the viewers and Running Man fans who voted to give me this meaningful and precious award. I will cherish it dearly. I will work even harder this year to be a funnier, more entertaining member of Running Man. I promise to embody the spirit of a true scene-stealer.”
Song Ji-hyo thanked her castmates and production team in detail, acknowledging their contributions to the show's success. She added special mentions for makeup and styling professionals who helped her at the last minute.
She also congratulated Yoo Jae-suk on winning his 20th Daesang (Grand Prize) and praised her younger castmates, Jeon So-min and Yang Se-chan, for their achievements. Finally, she wished fans a happy and prosperous 2025, promising to bring even more energy and dedication to her work in the new year.
