YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute shares new claims on March 13; Kim Soo-hyun’s agency denies allegations, promising an official statement next week.

Kim Soo-hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, has announced plans to release an official statement next week in response to allegations that the actor was in a six-year relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron, beginning when she was 15.

These claims have been made by both Kim Sae-ron’s family and the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute (Gaseyeon). As the debate continues, Gaseyeon is demanding a public apology from Kim Soo-hyun, warning that more evidence—including photos and videos—will be revealed if the actor denies the accusations.

On March 13, Gaseyeon took to its YouTube community page, stating, “We eagerly anticipate Kim Soo-hyun’s official statement next week. We expect a sincere public apology to the bereaved family of Kim Sae-ron. If he responds with excuses or falsehoods, we will release three shocking photos and a video that far surpass what has already been disclosed.”

The channel further alleged that Kim Sae-ron personally confirmed she had dated Kim Soo-hyun for six years, from November 19, 2015—when she was in her second year of middle school—until July 7, 2021. They added, “Kim Sae-ron suffered immense pain at a young age, and we will fight for her and her family until the very end.”

Since March 10, Kim Sae-ron’s family has been using Gaseyeon to assert that her relationship with Kim Soo-hyun began in 2016, when she was 15. The channel has also accused Gold Medalist of demanding a massive penalty fee from Kim Sae-ron after her DUI incident, further fueling the controversy.

Gold Medalist, however, has strongly denied the accusations. In a statement released on March 10, the agency called the allegations “entirely false” and described them as part of a malicious campaign against Kim Soo-hyun. “Garo Sero Institute has made a series of baseless claims, including accusations that Kim Soo-hyun and our agency conspired with a YouTuber to harass the late Kim Sae-ron, that he was in a relationship with her from the age of 15, and that our handling of her DUI incident was unfair. These allegations are completely untrue and unacceptable,” the agency stated. They also announced plans to take “the strongest possible legal action” against the spread of false information.

On March 12, Kim Sae-ron’s family released what they claim is further evidence of her relationship with Kim Soo-hyun. Through Gaseyeon, they shared a handwritten letter allegedly sent by Kim Soo-hyun to Kim Sae-ron during his military service, as well as a photo of him kissing her on the cheek. While the letter does not explicitly name Kim Soo-hyun, it is addressed to “Saerone-ro” and signed by “Private Kim, far away.”

Dated June 9, 2018, the letter was supposedly written during Kim Soo-hyun’s military service, which lasted from October 2017 to July 2019. In it, the sender discusses life in the military and writes phrases such as, “It’s a good day to think about Nero Nero,” “The one thing I can say for sure is that I miss you,” and “I still have more than a year left, so please continue to do your best. Loyalty!” The family also provided a photo showing Kim Soo-hyun kissing Kim Sae-ron on the cheek, adding further fuel to the speculation.

As the controversy escalates, Gold Medalist issued another statement on March 13, reaffirming its stance and promising a detailed response next week. “To set the record straight and combat these baseless rumors, we will release an official statement supported by clear evidence,” the agency stated. “We apologize for the ongoing distress this situation has caused and ask for understanding as we work to put an end to the speculation.”

For now, the exact timing and format of Kim Soo-hyun’s official response remain undisclosed.

Meanwhile, as the controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun intensifies, attention is also turning to his upcoming Disney+ original series Knock-Off, in which he stars alongside Jo Bo-ah. The highly anticipated drama, set to premiere later this year, is a crime thriller that follows the world of counterfeit fashion. However, the allegations regarding his alleged past relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron have cast a shadow over the series.

Industry insiders are speculating on whether the ongoing scandal will impact Knock-Off's release or promotional activities. Given that Disney+ is investing heavily in Korean originals to expand its global reach, the platform may be closely monitoring the situation. Searches for terms like "Kim Soo-hyun scandal," "Disney+ Knock-Off release date," "Jo Bo-ah and Kim Soo-hyun drama," and "Kim Soo-hyun controversy impact on Disney+" have surged in recent days, signaling growing public interest in how this will affect the actor’s career.

Neither Disney+ nor the production team behind Knock-Off has issued a statement regarding the situation, but with Kim Soo-hyun's agency set to release an official response next week, the impact on his professional commitments remains to be seen.
