Actor 'Kang Dong-won' is taking on what might be the most unexpected role of his career — a dancing machine.

According to distributor Lotte Entertainment on March 31, the upcoming film 'Wild Thing' officially began filming on March 30, and it's already generating major buzz thanks to its stacked cast.

'Wild Thing' is a wild comedy that follows the comeback story of a legendary co-ed dance group, 'Triangle', who once ruled the K-pop scene but disbanded after an unforeseen scandal. Two decades later, they’re given one more shot at the stage — and they take it.

Kang Dong-won plays 'Hyun-woo', the charismatic former leader and dance ace of Triangle. Once a star, he now drifts around TV stations, taking on whatever gigs he can to make ends meet. Fans may recall his unforgettable "Boom Bastick" dance scene in 'A Violent Prosecutor', which proved he’s got rhythm — and Wild Thing promises to take that energy to the next level.

Joining him is actor 'Um Tae-goo' as 'Sang-goo', the group's overconfident rapper with terrible skills but endless enthusiasm. 'Park Ji-hyun' takes on the role of 'Domi', Triangle’s main vocalist and center — now retired, trying to live a quiet life, but unable to suppress her natural girl-crush energy. And rounding out the cast is 'Oh Jung-se' as 'Sung-gon', a tragically overlooked ballad singer who always came in second to Triangle during their heyday.

With this electric lineup and a totally fresh comedic vibe, Wild Thing is already shaking up expectations in the Korean film industry.

Filming is currently underway, and the official release date has yet to be announced.
