On April 30, Kim Soo-hyun’s legal representative, LKB & Partners, issued an official statement, saying:

“Gold Medalist and actor Kim Soo-hyun have today submitted an additional complaint against Gaseyeon operator Kim Se-ui for violating the Anti-Stalking Act.”

This comes on the heels of a prior complaint, which was first filed on April 1, also accusing Kim Se-ui of stalking through “persistent and repetitive dissemination of false information” about the actor. His actions, they argue, fall within the legal definition of stalking behavior.

The legal team further revealed that on April 22, investigators applied for a temporary restraining order against Kim Se-ui under the Anti-Stalking Act, and Seoul Central District Court granted that request the following day, April 23.

Despite being officially notified of the court’s decision on April 24, Kim Se-ui has allegedly continued spreading false claims about Kim Soo-hyun on his YouTube channel. Kim's legal team emphasized that this defiance of a court order is a serious offense under Article 20, Clause 2 of the Anti-Stalking Law, punishable by up to 2 years in prison or a ₩20 million fine. They stated that this prompted immediate additional legal action.

Background:

In March, Gaseyeon claimed via a broadcast that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron starting in 2016, when she was only 15 years old, and that the relationship lasted six years.

On March 14, Gold Medalist countered this, stating:

“Kim Soo-hyun began dating Kim Sae-ron only after she became an adult — between the summer of 2019 and fall of 2020.”

They also refuted claims that the agency neglected Kim Sae-ron’s financial troubles, stating they had actually paid off her debts totaling several hundred million KRW.

As the rumors persisted, Kim Soo-hyun held a press conference on March 31, emotionally denying the accusations:

“I did not date her when she was a minor. It’s not true that she made a tragic decision because I turned my back on her or because my agency pressured her over debts.”

Breaking down in tears, he added, “I cannot admit to doing something I didn’t do.”

At that time, his agency filed defamation and information law violations complaints against Kim Se-ui, the self-identified aunt of Kim Sae-ron, and others involved. They also filed a ₩11 billion (~$8 million USD) civil suit for damages.
