The final film of late actress Kim Sae-ron, Guitar Man, is set for theatrical release on May 30.
A music drama about loss, love, and healing, Guitar Man tells the story of Ki-chul, a drifting genius guitarist who finds new hope through music and human connection. The role is played by Lee Sun-jung, who also directed and produced the film.

Kim Sae-ron stars as Yoo-jin, a keyboardist in the band “Volcano.” Her character gently breaks through Ki-chul’s emotional walls with unwavering sincerity and warmth. The film marks one of her final on-screen appearances.
An original soundtrack titled “A Painless World”—written, composed, and sung by director Lee—was released on April 28. The song conveys comfort for those facing harsh realities, with lyrics like “Life is not easy” and “Wishing you happiness in a world without pain.”
The music video, which features scenes from the movie including clips of Kim Sae-ron, drew attention online. Director Lee remarked, “Kim brought so much bright energy to the set. I hoped she’d make a strong comeback. I truly wish her happiness in a world without pain.” She added that all profits from the soundtrack will be donated to the Korea Suicide Prevention Center.

A press screening and director Q&A (GV) will take place on May 21 at Lotte Cinema World Tower.
Meanwhile, as the Korean entertainment industry faces turbulence amid Kim Soo-hyun’s controversy, the upcoming release of Kim Sae-ron’s final film Guitar Man is drawing somber reflection and support, spotlighting her emotional legacy just weeks ahead of its premiere.
