K-drama Sensation: Breaking Barriers in Indonesia.
In Indonesia, the world’s fourth most populous country with over 270 million people, a K-drama is making waves—and fast. According to SBS on May 19, the youth romance drama Spring of Youth ranked No.2 among Korean dramas on Vidio, Indonesia’s largest OTT platform with 60 million monthly users (based on FlixPatrol data from May 10 to May 17).

This achievement is particularly meaningful given Indonesia’s growing reputation as a new battleground for Hallyu (the Korean Wave), and the dominance of Vidio as a leading content platform. Outperforming numerous other K-dramas, Spring of Youth is proving its impact far beyond Korea’s borders.
Spring of Youth tells the story of Sa-gye, a former superstar from a top K-pop band who is unexpectedly kicked out of the group. As he begins a new chapter in college, he meets Kim Bom—a fateful encounter that leads to love, growth, and a bold comeback. It’s a fresh blend of youthful energy, emotional beats, and musical charm.

Starring rising talents Ha Yujun, Park Jihoo, and Lee Seunghyub, the show’s cast chemistry and refreshing vibe have captured both domestic and international viewers. Fans on social media have been flooding comment sections with messages like “Drama name please!” and “Who’s the idol actor?”—a clear sign of global curiosity.
The production team shared, “We’re thrilled by the enthusiastic response from Indonesia’s top OTT platform, especially as the country becomes a new hub for Korean content. From episodes 4 to 10, expect even more exciting stories that transcend generations, borders, and cultures. Please stay tuned!”
Spring of Youth airs every Wednesday at 10:40 PM KST. Episode 4 is scheduled to air on May 21.
