Is This Han Ji-min’s Type? Boyfriend Choi Jung-hoon Reveals He Reads Poetry

On the May 21 episode of MBC’s Radio Star (Episode 915), Jannabi’s Choi Jung-hoon charmed viewers once again with his signature emotional depth and artistic sensibility. Appearing on the “Final Boss” special alongside Baek Ji-yeon, Hong Hyun-hee, and Min Kyung-ah, Choi opened up about his creative process and quiet hobbies.

Choi shared that he writes most of Jannabi’s lyrics himself, drawing inspiration from everyday impressions and emotional moments. When asked whether he reads a lot, he replied that not only is he an avid reader, but he particularly enjoys poetry in his spare time.

“I love reading poetry when I have time,” he said, revealing that during the making of Jannabi’s landmark album Legend, he carried Han Kang’s poetry collection I Put the Evening in the Drawer with him everywhere. “Poems, novels, even individual scenes—they spark emotions in me. Those feelings turn into lyrics.”

With such depth and introspection, some viewers couldn’t help but wonder if this was part of what attracted actress Han Ji-min to the 10-years-younger musician. The couple went public with their relationship in August 2024. They reportedly met on KBS 2TV’s The Seasons: Choi Jung-hoon’s Night Park, where their professional rapport naturally blossomed into romance.

Choi also spoke briefly about his recent musical projects. He collaborated with aespa’s Karina on the emotional track May the TENDERNESS be with you!—a surprising but well-received duet that blends Jannabi’s signature vintage tone with Karina’s dreamy vocals. The music video was recently released to strong fan reaction.

The track is part of Jannabi’s latest album, Sound of Music pt.1, their fourth studio release, which dropped on April 28, 2025. The album showcases the band’s evolution, weaving theatrical storytelling, rich instrumentation, and retro-pop sentiment into a deeply nostalgic listening experience.
