What Made Jun Ji-hyun’s Husband Respond to Rumors So Quickly? The actress' long-time friend and senior reveals her story, instantly shutting down further rumors from spreading.
Actress Jun Ji-hyun is once again in the spotlight—but this time, it’s not for her next drama or red carpet look. It’s for her unexpected title as Queen of the Kitchen.

On May 22, veteran actress Lee Mi-sook uploaded a new video to her personal YouTube channel “Misook’s Classy Misook”, titled “Lee Mi-sook’s Cooking Was Bea.u.ti.ful (feat. Jun Ji-hyun’s Recipe).” In the video, Lee showcased her cooking skills using ingredients straight from her fridge, humbly crediting her finesse to years of experience. “I've lived 60 years as a woman,” she quipped, exuding pride in her domestic prowess.
But the moment that grabbed viewers’ attention was when Lee revealed that some of her top cooking tips—including how to season with salted kelp—actually came from none other than Jun Ji-hyun herself. “I’ve learned a few recipes from her,” Lee said. “She even cooks full meals on set to take care of the staff. She’s fast, smart, and incredibly thoughtful.”
Jun Ji-hyun, who married Choi Joon-hyuk, CEO of Alpha Asset Management, in 2012, is a mother of two. Despite the couple's private lifestyle, they faced a wave of speculation back in 2021 when YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute spread unverified claims suggesting Choi wanted a divorce. The rumors claimed Choi had left home, saying he didn’t want to be her husband anymore. The video also suggested Jun Ji-hyun opposed divorce and was even considering immigration.
Her agency swiftly shut down the rumor, stating unequivocally: “None of the content mentioned in the video is true,” and signaled legal action. Choi Joon-hyuk also addressed the rumor himself in a subtle yet savvy way—by updating his messenger profile photo to a Slam Dunk cartoon parody with the caption, “I want to be Jun Ji-hyun’s husband.”
Adding to the quiet pushback, Jun Ji-hyun’s mother-in-law, designer Lee Jung-woo, posted a cryptic message on social media at the time: “Today was so upsetting, I nearly lost my self-control and ate bread.” Her post was widely interpreted as a response to the rumors.

Meanwhile, Jun Ji-hyun is gearing up for her return to the screen with her upcoming Disney+ series Polaris. In the drama, she plays Moon Joo, a renowned diplomat and former UN ambassador, who teams up with an enigmatic special agent named Sanho (played by Gang Dong-won) to uncover the truth behind a massive international conspiracy.
