K-Pop Stars Lead the Way in Voting Excitement.
Even with their packed schedules, top stars like BTS's J-Hope and actress Kim Go-eun made sure to show up—and speak up—with their early voting proof shots, earning praise from fans and citizens alike.

South Korea's 21st presidential election is underway with early voting held over two days, May 29 and 30. Across the country, excitement is high and even the entertainment industry is joining the democratic wave with a flood of star-studded voting photos.
J-Hope posted a single photo to his Instagram story on the 29th with no caption needed. Dressed head-to-toe in black—mask, cap, and outfit included—he posed in front of the polling station at Oksu Community Center.
His all-black look was widely interpreted as a conscious decision to stay politically neutral, avoiding any unwanted controversy over color symbolism. In South Korea, blue and red are associated with major political parties, so even a fashion choice can draw speculation during election season. Fans called J-Hope's choice smart and classy, applauding him for fulfilling his civic duty with understated flair. “World star energy,” one fan commented. “A proud citizen doing his part.”
Actress Kim Go-eun also quietly shared a photo of herself at her polling place via Instagram Story, offering no text but a clear message: she voted. Her calm and responsible post earned admiration for letting the action speak for itself.

Meanwhile, singer Lee Chae-yeon, formerly of IZ*ONE, added a playful twist to her voting style. She wore a blue wrist brace while holding a red cherry tomato in her voting proof photo. “Can’t remove the wrist brace, so I’m neutralizing it with this tomato,” she joked, cleverly sidestepping any political misinterpretation and drawing laughs.
On the same day, Haewon from girl group NMIXX posted a hand-stamped voting photo on fan platform Bubble, writing “I just voted!” Rookie girl group UDTT also posted, “We just finished early voting!” as three of the Korean members posed for a commemorative snap.

Early voting for the 21st presidential election is available on May 29 and 30 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 3,568 polling stations across the country. On the first day alone, the turnout reached 19.58%, setting a record for the highest opening-day rate since early voting began in 2014. As of 9 a.m. on the 30th, the figure had already climbed to 22.14%.
