당신은 숫자에 어떤 의미를 부여하는가. 아마도 가장 유명한 ‘럭키 세븐’을 알 것이다. 또는 피해야 할 숫자, 13이 있다. 한국에서는 숫자 4가 같은 취급을 받는다. 숫자 4를 뜻하는 한국어 단어는 ‘사’로 발음되는데, 이는 ‘죽음’을 뜻하는 단어와 발음이 같다. 요즘은 흔하지 않지만, 한국의 몇몇 오래된 건물들은 아직도 4층이 없다.

What kind of meaning do you place on numbers? You're probably familiar with the most famous 'lucky seven'. Or the number to avoid, 'thirteen'. In Korea, the same is done with the number four. The Korean word for 'four' is pronounced 'sa', which also is the same pronunciation for the word 'death'. Though it's less prevalent nowadays, Korean buildings, especially some old ones, still do not have the fourth floor.
