BTS Jungkook's “Seven” topped the charts in both the United States and Japan
BTS member Jungkook's first solo single tops the music charts in the United States and Japan.


According to the latest chart from Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, on July 14th, Jungkook's solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' streamed 15,995,378 times, claiming the top spot on the Global Top Songs chart.
As a Korean solo artist, Jungkook achieved the highest entry at number one on the Spotify Global chart. According to Spotify, this streaming figure for 'Seven' sets a new record for the most streams by a newly entered song on the Global Top Songs chart.
In addition to 'Seven,' the instrumental version also ranked 65th on Spotify's Daily Top Songs Global chart. Jungkook's previously released solo tracks 'Still With You' and 'My You,' which were initially shared as free downloads but recently made available on domestic and international music platforms, ranked 54th and 113th, respectively.
Moreover, 'Seven' made a significant impact on the latest daily digital single ranking published by Oricon in Japan on July 14th. The song entered at positions 1, 2, and 4 immediately upon release.
The 'Clean Ver.' and 'Explicit Ver.' secured the first and second spots with 17,142 and 9,625 downloads, respectively, while the instrumental version took the fourth spot.
'Seven' is a captivating song that combines a warm acoustic guitar sound with the rhythm of the UK garage genre, which emerged in the early 1990s in the United Kingdom.
Since its release, the song has dominated the iTunes 'Top Songs' chart in 106 countries/regions (as of 9 a.m. on the 15th). It also achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the top spot on Melon's Top 100 chart (as of midnight on the 15th), setting a new record for the fastest ascent to the number one position by a male solo artist.
On the 14th, Jungkook made his first solo appearance as the opening act at the GMA's 2023 Summer Concert Series held in Central Park, New York, where he performed 'Seven' for the first time, marking the beginning of his full-fledged solo activities.
