From the long-awaited Squid Game 2 to Please Take Care of My Refrigerator Season 2…
Netflix has unveiled its exciting lineup of content coming this December.

The December lineup includes the highly anticipated Squid Game: Season 2, which has gained global popularity, as well as Please Take Care of My Refrigerator: Season 2, featuring many cast members from this year’s sensational hit Culinary Class Wars, drawing significant attention.

The first major release next month is The Tale of Lady Ok, a JTBC weekend drama featuring Lim Ji-yeon, Chu Young-woo, Kim Jae-won, and Yeonwoo. The series tells the story of Ok Tae-young, an outcast woman whose name, status, and husband are all lies, and Chun Seung-hwi, a man willing to risk his life to protect her in a high-stakes survival con game.
Set in the Joseon Dynasty, The Tale of Lady Ok explores the harrowing survival journey of a female slave, who had neither rights nor status, and the unyielding love of a man who sacrificed everything he held dear to protect her.
Inspired by true events, the drama draws from a 1542 French fraud case involving swapped husbands and a similar 1607 incident during the reign of King Seonjo in Joseon. The Tale of Lady Ok reinterprets historical accounts, including The Return of Martin Guerre by French judge Jean de Coras and Yuyeonjeon, a novel by Yi Hang-bok, rooted in real events.

On the 5th, the British mystery series Black Doves, starring Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw, will be released. The story follows a spy living under the guise of a politician's wife who embarks on a journey of revenge with an assassin and former friend after discovering her lover has been murdered.
On the 15th, Please Take Care of My Refrigerator: Season 2 will debut, featuring Choi Hyun-seok, Edward Lee, and Lee Mi-young from Culinary Class Wars. The cooking talk show pits top chefs against each other in a battle to create dishes using ingredients from celebrity refrigerators. This season also introduces Kim Poong, a cartoonist known for his unique culinary philosophy, raising excitement among fans.

On the 26th, Netflix’s all-time hit Squid Game: Season 2 will finally premiere. The star-studded cast includes Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-jun, and Park Gyu-young. Notably, former Big Bang member Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P) makes his debut as a villain.
The new season picks up three years after Gi-hun’s victory in the deadly game. Having abandoned plans to go to the U.S., Gi-hun returns with a thirst for vengeance. With a new personal mission, he re-enters the mysterious survival game, engaging in life-or-death childhood games alongside new participants.
In the main trailer released on the 27th, Gi-hun is seen wearing his Season 1 contestant number, 456, as he rejoins the game. However, his goal this time is not to win but to end the game for good. He tries to unite the desperate participants, explaining the rules and urging them to work together. Despite his efforts, greed blinds many contestants, leading them to ignore his warnings.
The trailer also hints at an intense showdown between Gi-hun and the Frontman (Lee Byung-hun). When Gi-hun declares, “I’m here to stop the game,” the Frontman retorts, “The game won’t end unless the world changes,” with a cold smile. Gi-hun’s cry, “I need to fight the ones who created this game!” adds further intrigue, answering the teaser line, “Why did you crawl back here?”
The anticipation for Squid Game: Season 2 is higher than ever, with fans eager to see how the story unfolds and what challenges await in the new games.
On the same day, a special live event, Christmas Gameday, will also be streamed. Viewers can enjoy live NFL games along with Beyoncé’s halftime show. In Korean Standard Time, the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers at 3 a.m., followed by an intense matchup between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans at 6:30 a.m.

The upcoming month offers an abundance of movie selections. Starting on December 1, the Transformers series—including Transformers, Transformers: Age of Extinction, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Transformers: The Last Knight—will be available. For a cozy Christmas watch, The Grinch and The Holiday are also set to premiere.
On December 6, fans can dive into the iconic lives and romantic escapades of single women in New York with Sex and the City Seasons 1 and 2. Other notable releases include Ghostbusters: Afterlife on December 11, Inglourious Basterds on December 16, and Tomb Raider on December 22.
