Bruno Mars Collaboration: Breaking Global Music Barriers!
On the latest episode of KBS Joy’s entertainment program 20th Century Hit-Song, Rosé of BLACKPINK made headlines with the jaw-dropping success of her solo track ‘APT.’ The show’s 265th episode, aired on May 16, focused on hit songs that generated massive earnings under the theme “Smells Like Money~ The Billion-Won Hit Songs.”

Host Mijoo highlighted tracks like Rosé’s APT., EXO’s Growl, and BTS’s Dynamite, calling them “mega-hits that brought in enormous profits.”
Rosé’s APT. shocked the cast when it was revealed to have earned 13.3 billion KRW in streaming revenue alone—just two weeks after its release. EXO’s Growl reportedly made 10.5 billion KRW in album sales, while BTS’s Dynamite topped the list with an estimated 200 billion KRW in total earnings.

Topping the all-time earnings chart, however, was Angel Who Lost Her Wings by Roo’Ra, a legendary hit released back in 1995.
Rosé’s APT., a pre-release track from her first full-length solo album rosie released on December 6 last year, became a global smash hit right after its debut. Blending sophisticated production with an emotional melody, the song showcases Rosé’s signature airy and expressive vocals, pulling listeners deep into its emotional core.
A key factor in the song’s success was its duet with global pop icon Bruno Mars. The collaboration sparked international buzz, and though their vocal styles are distinct, the two artists achieved a perfect harmony in APT., enhancing its lyrical sensitivity and musical depth. The track balances exotic soundscapes with K-pop’s emotional flair, drawing widespread attention from global fans.

Rosé, who rose to fame as a member of BLACKPINK, continues to shape her own musical identity as a solo artist with a distinct color and sound.
BLACKPINK, the four-member K-pop girl group under YG Entertainment, debuted on August 8, 2016, with members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. They gained explosive popularity with their debut singles Whistle and Boombayah, followed by hits like Playing with Fire, As If It’s Your Last, DDU-DU DDU-DU, Kill This Love, and How You Like That—solidifying their position as K-pop royalty.
Beyond music, BLACKPINK has built a powerful global fandom through YouTube, social media, and brand collaborations. Their official YouTube channel ranks among the most-subscribed worldwide, with music videos racking up hundreds of millions of views.
They also made major strides in international markets, becoming the first Korean girl group to perform at Coachella and embarking on the BORN PINK world tour, reaching fans across Europe, North America, and Asia. The group held sold-out solo concerts at major venues like Hyde Park in London and Stade de France in Paris.
