An idol-turned-actor who rose to fame in Lovely Runner makes a heartfelt return in another coming-of-age drama—this time capturing attention with a quietly powerful performance.
Lee Seung-hyub—member of N.Flying and rising actor—is drawing attention for his nuanced performance in SBS’s new Wednesday drama, Spring of Youth. He first gained recognition in tvN’s hit youth romance Lovely Runner, where he portrayed Baek In-hyuk alongside Byeon Woo-seok, Kim Hye-yoon, and Seong Geon-hee.

Now, in SBS’s newest series, Spring of Youth, which premiered on May 6, Lee Seung-hyub takes on the lead role of Seo Taeyang, a medical student struggling to pursue his passion for music. From intense clashes with a father who disapproves of his band dreams to the heartbreak of one-sided love, Lee portrays the complex emotional layers of his character with striking depth and subtlety.
Seo Taeyang’s character faces mounting pressure from his father, who wants him to stay focused on his academic path. In these scenes, Lee channels inner conflict through firm expressions and a resolute tone, portraying Taeyang’s fight to hold on to his dream with conviction and vulnerability.

In a particularly poignant moment, Taeyang realizes that Sa-gye (played by Ha Yujun) and Kim Bom (Park Ji-hoo) have feelings for each other. Lee captures the character’s heartbreak with hauntingly empty eyes and a subdued, defeated expression—drawing empathy and sorrow from viewers.
Lee Seung-hyub’s portrayal has anchored the series with emotional authenticity, showing his growing strength as an actor. With a calm yet expressive delivery, he continues to bring depth to a character caught between duty and desire.
Spring of Youth airs every Wednesday at 10:40 PM KST on SBS.
Meanwhile, fans can look forward to seeing more of Lee Seung-hyub offscreen as well, as he joins his group N.Flying on their highly anticipated world tour. The multi-talented artist continues to balance acting and music, bringing his signature energy to the stage as the leader and vocalist of the band.
N.Flying is set to release their second full-length album, Everlasting, on May 28, 2025, marking a major comeback for the group. With the album drop just around the corner, excitement is building among fans worldwide—not only for new music, but also for the chance to see the band perform live in cities across the globe.
Lee Seung-hyub is steadily making a name for himself as a true multi-hyphenate—balancing dual careers as both an actor and a singer.
